It seems that the majority of people have some habit they want to break. Whether it is an external habit like eating too much, drinking too much alcohol, yelling and cussing or it is an internal habit like playing victim, negative self-talk, judgmental thinking, crying on the inside; these habits can cause long term pain leading to complicated grief and often times medical conditions like cardiovascular disease or other life threatening diseases. Habits are part of human nature and for some people habits are so powerful that they may even feel stuck or victim to the habit.

The habit can be broken or changed. As long as you are alive, you have the power to make changes that serve you.  To break a habit takes honesty, focus and frequent feedback.  As new patterns are being created and established, the old patterns begin to fade away and soon you will notice a conspicuous absence of the former habit. This is exciting.

If you are expecting that your old habit will leave with a bang, do not be surprised when it does not, rather it leaves quietly and one day you realize it has gone. That conspicuous absence of the old habit becomes a place of freedom. Freedom you may have previously thought to be unattainable.

You have the right to be free from internal bondage that keeps holding back your wonderful life. Change your inner landscape and the outer will automatically change in kind. Until next time, be well.
